    For probate attorneys

    Weekly property status reporting

Every referred matter gets the same one-page update, on the same day each week, until closeout. Here is what it looks like.

    Sample update

    Property Status Update

Illustrative example. Details are composite and do not describe a specific estate.

    Matter
Estate of R. — 4-bed single family, Mesa, AZ (address on file)
    Report date
    Week 3 of engagement
    Current step
    Step 4 of 6 — Prepare
    Completed this week
Cleanout finished (18 cubic yards removed, 6 boxes of personal papers delivered to PR, donation receipt issued). Deep clean complete. Interior paint complete.
    Scheduled next
Carpet replacement Tuesday. Landscaping cleanup Thursday. Photography and listing preparation the following Monday.
Spend to date vs approved scope
Approved refresh scope: $14,200 estimated. Invoiced to date: $9,850. All invoices in the closeout file.
    Blockers
None. Water service restored on Tuesday after the meter issue reported last week.
    Attorney action needed
None this week. Confirmation of listing authority will be requested before the property goes active.

Why the format stays the same

A predictable report is a report your paralegal can file without reading twice. The same seven fields appear every week, so a matter can be brought current in under a minute before a client call or a status conference.

    What the reporting is not

    • It is not probate accounting and is not prepared for filing with the court.
    • It organizes property information only; the estate's accounting remains with counsel and the personal representative.
    • Figures shown are estimates and invoiced amounts, not guarantees of final cost.

At closing, the weekly updates roll into the attorney-ready closeout file described on the referral process page.

Refer a matter and see it in practice

The first weekly update arrives within seven days of the property visit.
